Dear Mother (A Poem)

Dear Mother (A Poem)

Reposted from the Spiritual Sunflower's wordpress blog, originally posted on August 1st, 2018

Dear Mother,

I am alive.

The earth beneath my feet breathes life into me,

And when I open my heart to receive,

the love I’m shown nearly overwhelms me —

Oh Mother,

even your disasters are a work of art.

You teach me to fall in love every day with the simplest things.

And when your touch tickles me,

your sweet smell overwhelms all else,

I know I am home.
